Rewrapped Drum Kits Although my first idea was to present drum kits with original wrap only, finally I’ve decided to give those of you, who have also put lots of love and elbow grease into rewrapping your Star drum kit, a chance, too. So here’s the category, where there’s a place for such drum kits/ single rewrapped snare drums. Note: The drum kits here are not categorised into the main three different lug shapes. Apollo from around 1970, in Purple Sparkle, 22”/ 12”/ 16” (Gary, St. Louis, USA) Apollo Star badges Remarks: Snare drum is the converted 13” rack tom of the kit, but with a strange Apollo badge (not from the Star family)
Bollero from 1973, in a natural wood finish, 22”/ 12”/ 13”/ 16” + 14″ x 5″ metal snare drum (Tom, Vienna, Austria) Bollero badges Remarks: The original wrap was too destroyed, so this kit received a noble natural lacquer finish
Star ’Parade’ Marching Drum from the early 70’s, unwrapped, 14” x 10” (Theo, Deurne, The Netherlands) Round/ silver Star badge Remarks: Drum had a torn wrap before, so therefore it received four layers of high-gloss clear lacquer in this case

Extraordinary Star kit from the early 70’s, in Black Diamond Pearl, with an 18” bass drum/ 12”/ 14” (Toshihiko, Tokyo, Japan) Round/ silver Star badges without the wording ’Made in Japan’ Remarks: Most probably this is an one-of-a-kind prototype bass drum made by Star, with it’s diameter of 18” only (see also the same kit with it’s previous finish in the section ‘Photos of Drum Kits with lug type 924’)
Star from around 1972, in JS Gold Sparkle, 20”/ 12”/ 13”/ 16” (Del, Kitchener, Canada) Round/ silver Star badges (badges are replicas from me) Remarks: The double tom holder and the tom brackets are replaced with parts from another Japanese factory (Hoshino Kougyou)
Royal Star from 1973, in a Sub-mariner Blue, 22”/ 12”/ 13”/ 16” + 14″ x 5″ metal snare drum (Peter, Winnipeg, Canada) Round/ silver Royal Star badges Remarks: The double tom holder and the tom brackets were replaced by early Tama parts (see also the same kit with it’s previous finish in the section ‘Photos of Drum Kits with lug type 6370’)
Star from the late 60’s, in Psychedelic Citrus Mod, 20”/ 12”/ 16” (Gary, Warren, USA) Round/ silver Star badges (badges are replicas from me) Remarks: A beautiful refurbished drum kit; genuine tom holder is existing, but the tom is preferably played this way, on a separate stand
